Working on 4-H Fair Projects
Every year the County Fair sneaks up on us. Every year we say that we’ll start working on next years projects in the fall so that we have more time. Anyone else relate? We have good intentions, but a hard time following through.
This year the Fair is more complicated, due to having to social distance & spread things out. It used to be that judging was mostly all in one day. Now we have it spread over several weeks.
We have 5 kids doing projects for the Fair, each one doing 12-16 projects. It’s a bit overwhelming, I’ll be honest!
The kids do their own work on the projects, but I have to get them signed up online (which isn’t an easy process either! You have to sign up in April for each project category & then again in June to select each subclass…not exactly sure why, but that’s how it is), buy all the supplies, order the manuals they need (again, not simple b/c some projects don’t need them & some do. We missed ordering a bunch that we actually needed) & oversee everything to make sure we’re staying on track.
So, we’ll be here buckling down & getting our projects done this next month. And hopefully come September we’ll do a better job of starting on next year’s projects. 😊
