“Draw with Me” Week 38

Hey guys!! Got another week of Inktober art for you!! We’re two-thirds of the way there now, so that’s pretty exciting!

This is Sebastian. He is Zach’s pet Sand Walker. He acts a LOT like a pet dog…….only a lot smaller than a dog. Anyway, since Zach works with the Planetary Confederacy of Lactea, and at Confederacy headquarters they don’t want Zach’s pet to run loose (he’s a fire breathing lizard and is seen as a huge liability) therefore Zach has a special terrarium for him with a castle for him to climb around in. The prompt was “castle,” and this drawing was specially requested, and it actually matched so well with Sebastian!! You guys may actually remember him from earlier this year………..like in May………. it’s been a while……. anyway, moving on!

Douglas, a lupus, was raised as an assassin. Once he was old enough and strong enough, he ran away from his captors, who had kidnapped him and his pack when they were all young children. The joint effort of the entire pack was needed to execute their escape. Many years passed, and Douglas got married. Settling down to work some land, the couple were delighted when their firstborn came along. However, tragedy struck when their son was kidnapped at age 4. Douglas set out to find him and to deal out his revenge………… the prompt was dagger, and it immediately made me think of this character who I created earlier this year. Although untill now he was just an idea and in drawing him a lot of his backstory unrolled for me. Douglas just wants to live a normal life. But the people who were using him just won’t leave him alone.

Meet Brian. The prompt for this one was Angel, so I knew I wanted to draw a Biblically accurate Angel……the description was taken from a Seraphim described by Isaiah in a vision he had. Since these are all MY characters for my books……ive decided to make a species based heavily on Angel’s, seraphim specifically, and I’ll explain more about it in the following drawing as you will soon see.

Ok, so this is Bruce. The prompt was demon, and this is really what gave me the idea for the species based off of angels. So, as we all know, demons are just fallen angels right? So, theoretically, even though we don’t really have any descriptions of demons in the Bible (I mean….there are a few things but nothing that really passes for an adequate description) so I decided…..what if this species goes through a metamorphosis when they become evil/Sinful? And it’s not an instantaneous thing either……like say Bruce was an Angel as it were…..but thats just the way he was raised so he doesn’t really believe in God, but he’s basically a good person right? Well over time he stops reading his Bible. He wanders further and further away from the Lord. And after a while (not a short amount of time either….this is a bit of a process.) He notices that his lower pair of wings fall into disuse…..and even become dysfunctional. Then his upper pair of wings does the same….his middle set, the ones for flying, are the only usable ones left….but they also have changed, the beautiful feathers that once adorned them have molted off and the wing has become very leathery and clawed. He hides his upper wings in oversized hoodies, but there really isn’t anything he can do about the other pair.

Alright…..well that was longer than intended and I’m not quite sure it all made sense so please, if you have any questions, let me know. But assuming that it does make sense. I just wanted to say that the change that Bruce undertook to become what he is….can also reverse itself…..its a very different experience. It’s painful, and he needs to be extremely diligent in his commitment to do what’s right and to follow the Lord in all he does. And he isn’t perfect, his past sins constantly nag at him. Calling him back, but if he is really and truly committed to God. He will get through it. And maybe those voices never go away but the more he pours his heart to God, the easier it is to block them out……ok, I’m done now….sorry for all that 😅 i hope it isn’t too confusing.

This is Charon the Cemintaur (again) and his little buddy Nagol the Mieleon. They are getting ready to test drive this saddle…..Charon has never had a rider before (due to the fact that there aren’t any species native to the planet that can ride him….. well….that is more or less true, Nagol’s species live here but no one knows they exist.) And Nagol has never ridden!! They have a lot of fun though 😊 it’s currently the rainy season so Charon is wearing a poncho to keep himself warm. The prompt was Saddle so I immediately knew I was going to use Charon, and Logan suggested I have Nagol riding him (Nagol is actually a character that Logan created. He invented the species as well. They are based off of Chamelians.

A nice plump Snuffler baby! These mammals have 4 arm growths coming out of their sides. These are for swinging in the trees. Although the domesticated Snufflers are often kept away from trees, or anything else they can climb for that matter. I sort of cheated on this one….see….the prompt was Plump, so I thought OH!!! I can use a Snuffler!! Splendid idea, and I’ll have my character Talia petting it……..well……I went to draw it and backed out of drawing all of Talia, so I settled for her hand 🤷‍♀️ oh well

This is Cormac. He has Ice/snow powers. His skin is glossy and reflective like ice or glass, and his ears are jagged like shards of ice. Right now, he’s putting on an ice show for his younger cousins……this character didn’t exist until yesterday, but I already love him so much……… im going to need to start making a plotline for whatever his story will be right away 😄

This is Nova….you might not remember her, but she was a part of Logan’s birthday present and also my big fair project. Here’s a bit of backstory for you! Before Nova met Logan and Talia, she had been captured and enslaved on her home planet. Logan and Talia are the ones who rescued her. And because of that, Nova owes her life to them. And as is the custom in her culture. If someone saves your life, you must serve them for the rest of theirs. (and although Nova wasn’t in mortal peril, slavery was practically a living hell for her.) Anyway, the prompt was Chains and I really wanted to wiggle Nova into this months drawings 😄…..this was the only thing that she really seemed to fit 🤔

Well, that’s it for today……I haven’t finished today’s drawing yet, so that’s going to have to wait for next time 😔 also I’m sorry this post is so late. I’ll be sure to do better next week 😅
