Homemade rolls

We LOVE homemade bread. I’ve been making it for years. It started out as bread, but over the years we’ve discovered that we prefer rolls. They seem to stay fresh longer & are more versatile, & less crumbly (homemade bread is notoriously crumbly).

The kids love helping me shape rolls & always want to make “special ones”… can you spot the crosses?

I do sometimes add a half cup of oatmeal (adds texture, fiber, etc…) and/or a cup or 2 of freshly ground wheat flour. My family dislikes 100% whole wheat, so I do what I can. 🙂
