August/September 2020 Family Funnies

I was working on dinner & was planning to read aloud while the kids ate. Emma was looking at our book (at the pictures) & telling some things that were coming up in the book. I said,

“Emma, don’t read ahead!”

Lizzy says, “She’s not reading ahead, she’s ‘picturing’ ahead!”

Ellenor was cuddling in bed with us & kept going back & forth between Grant & I. Finally I followed her to the other side of the bed. She pushes me back with a stern face & says, “No! You go back to your pile!”

Ellie: “We share together!”

Xanna: “How do we share…separately?”

Emma: “Oh, look, I found something special! It’s a white hair from Mama! You’re getting old! Your white hair even smells like old!” 🙃 Cue laughter from the whole family.

Lexa: “Well, we keep you humble, Mom, telling things just as they are.” So true, children, so true.

Ellie said: “I get my drum drom!” (Aka “I had my blood drawn!”)
