April 2023 Family Funnies
I was looking at pictures of when Ellie was a baby & said to her, “Ohhh, you were so tiny!!”
Ellie: “Aww, I was so adorable! I’ve grown up so much! Now I have bigger arms! And bigger hands!”
I had to interrupt Logan & Lizzy’s talking to ask them to do something.
Me: “Pause really quickly & then you can get back to your discussion…”
Logan: “Sorry..this was a quick extra-book-ular conversation.”
We were reading Pilgrim’s Progress & the word “timorousness” came up. I finished the paragraph & paused to ask if the kids knew what the word meant.
Lexa bounces in from the other room with her hand raised, jumping excitedly…
Logan (jokingly): “Get this walking dictionary out of here!”
ð Lexa is known as the wordsmith around here…she knows most every word there is! ð
Me to Lucas: “Thanks for being flexible today with the change of plans!”
Lucas: “Well…I wasn’t really bendy, but I was welding in some extra fun for the afternoon!” ðĪĢ
“Mom! What is that cooking? And BURNING?” ðŦĢðĪŠð
(Easter Sunday…trying to cook 2 Honey Hams in a too-small pan for them both & it leaked onto the bottom of the oven! ðģð) It did smell something like the fire burning outside the day before! Haha
Ellie: “I’m hungry…do we have anything to eat that’s scrumptious…like pears??” (We had finished the last of the pears that morning.)
I offered her a couple things…
Ellie: “No, those aren’t scrumptious! How about carrots? Those are scrumptious. (Then she saw some chips.. ) But, do you know what’s MORE scrumptious? Chips!” ð
