Keira is 14!! We are thankful for her smiles, her willingness to help alongside, her love of baking, the way she includes her younger siblings, her love of animals & her willingness to “go with the flow”. She has been through quite a bit this past year with weekly IV therapy, having teeth pulled & braces put on, but she’s been a trooper through it all.
Since her birthday fell one of the days I was taking Lizzy on the snowboarding trip, she got to tag along. It was fun to have that time with her. She loves to watch baking & cooking, so we enjoyed some time doing that & she got to stay up late, play a lot of games, meet new friends & stay at a hotel!
Celebrating with McKaylee. (We forgot to get a picture with Grandma who was also there…)Lizzy, McKaylee, KeiraLucas made Keira some molasses cookies for her bday And a silly one 😀 Sporting some new gifts (a bonnet from us & a Nerf gun protective mask from Mike) while playing a game she got for Christmas Lucas lighting her candles14! 😀 Blowing out the candlesEmma gave Keira a coupon to have Dewdrop (our smallest “kitten” who is actually about 7 months now) on Emma’s night (the kids have a schedule that allows them to each sleep with Dewdrop in their bed one night of the week)We gaveher a Calligraphy book & some fun pens to practice withKeira & Ellie with a picture Ellie drew herLogan made her a purple flower (her favorite color of course!) & made a clever Lego “box” for her to open & it was inside.A neat journal from Opa & OmaI took her out to lunch before she got her braces on to celebrate her birthday a couple days early. (We figured it would be easier to eat then)Right before she got her braces onAfter the new braces! Kind of a big deal as she’s been waiting years for them (there was a mixup with the insurance who had approved her, but then with everything going on the past few years & the ortho office closing, it expired & then we had to appeal & jump through all the hoops to get it re-approved…phew!) (The top wires weren’t put on yet as she had to have 2 teeth pulled, then they’ll put the wires on the top, but at least the brackets are on)
