Cutting Cheese Blocks – A Mom Hack

Cutting Cheese Blocks – A Mom Hack

I wanted to share a way to easily cut some cheese slices or blocks. The pictures below are of a block of parmesan cheese.

Start by “scoring” in the block of cheese where you want the cuts to be – you want the cuts to be deep enough for as much cheese as you’ll be cutting (if you want to cut 1″ of the block, make sure these initial cuts are 1″)

Hard to see this step – look for the 3 horizontal lines

Slice across the block of cheese & instead of one slice, you now get 4! Time saved. =)

Side note: I love this cheese slicer – it’s perfect for this type of job! It doesn’t do as well on soft cheeses, but it’s pretty awesome for everything else)

The finished product! Took hardly any time!

You could do it similarly with a cheddar or any other type of cheese and make cubes. I do this often for the kids. A lot less expensive than buying them ready cut!
