Drinking glasses
We have been trying to work on moving away from using plastics as much as possible. An easy way to start has been drinking glasses. These type of handled pint Mason jars, are our favorite!! You can just use plain old mason jars, but the handles make it so much easier, especially if you use ice or in the summer when glasses sweat, the glass is less likely to slip out of your hand. I feel better about the kids using the jars with handles & they LOVE them. 🙂
I also LOVE that you can use the standard mason jar lids on them, so it causes less spills if kids leave their half-full glasses on the table or counter, or even if they have a half glass of milk left they want to save for the next day (oh yes, this happens often…) I also like to bring a jar of sleepy time tea to my room to drink after I get Ellie to bed & it has been spilled many times, until now! Yay!
For Grant, who used to drink out of a plastic 32-ounce cup, we bought these awesome 33-ounce jars. They come with lids also, which I love & I also use them to store my tea in the fridge if I make a big batch. 🙂
We may be behind the times a bit, but that’s ok. We do what we can, when we can. And there’s grace, not beating ourselves up, for the rest. 🙂
