Fasting
Did you know that fasting actually has some physical benefits?
It can help fight inflammation, lower cholesterol, help stabilize blood sugars, may put you at lower risk for heart disease or other diseases & more.
I have been trying to fast a few mornings a week, as well as trying to not eat too late at night. I am not strict about it, if I feel like I need to eat, I do, especially since I have a TON of meds & supplements to take.
I do feel like it helps some, though. I ate a bunch of food last week on our date night that I shouldn’t have & really had a rough 3 days after. Fasting in the mornings helped me to feel a bit better.
I drink a LOT of water (sometimes with lemon) throughout the day & also quite a bit of herbal tea, so that does help some with the hunger.
It is also a good reminder to pray, whenever you feel hungry or want to grab something to eat, try to pray instead – it keeps your mind off the hunger & is a great way to intercede if you have something specific on your mind or heart.
Lastly, it also helps with self-control! 🙂
