Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! We hope you all have a Blessed Year! May God richly bless you in 2020!
We don’t do New Year’s Resolutions, per se, or a word for the year, but something we started doing about 5 or 6 years ago has become a favorite tradition.
On or around January 1st, we all sit down together & talk about our past year & what we are looking forward to in the upcoming year. (It will be delayed a few days this year – stay tuned for more on that tomorrow!) 😉
We first of all read through what we had written last year & it’s so fun to look back & see what we had looked forward to & how things have changed from one year to another.
Then we go around and each person tells their favorite things about the past year and what they are most looking forward to in the upcoming year.
It has become a cherished time that we really look forward to, hearing everyone’s hopes & dreams and favorite memories.
And, while I don’t like to say it’s a “New Year’s Resolution,” what I have been thinking a lot lately (being convicted of) is being more intentional about smiling & choosing cheerfulness. Even when I am happy & cheerful, it doesn’t always show. I’m striving to change that. I want people to see Christ in me. I want to exude happiness. I want to not get caught up in the stress & “busyness” of life that causes me to lose sight of what & who is truly important.
What are some of your favorite New Year’s Traditions?
My favorite tradition is breathing
Breathing is good 🙂
