Hiking in TX

There were several hiking trails around the Wycliffe Property & Lexa and I enjoyed hiking a couple mornings. We hiked about 2-3 miles the first day & then did about 3 miles the 2nd day with my Mom also. It was a lot of fun & beautiful.

We had heard there are a couple types of dangerous snakes around on the hiking trails, so we carried a stick & were alert, but didn’t end up running into any. 🙂 (Lexa was a bit disappointed that she didn’t get to see ANY TX creatures!)

Have you ever had prickly pear cactus fruit? Neither had I! I knew it was edible, so I picked one to try. Ouch! There are dozens of tiny cactus prickles in them! Lol What an adventure! It was fun to try it regardless, even thoughI was picking out thorns for days. 😃
A beautiful blue Jay feather we found on the trail. We had an empty ziploc bag, so we brought it home for the kids to enjoy
Our beautiful tree climber. 😀
Some type of animal hideout
This dry creek bed was fascinating. Lots of flint, like what arrowheads used to be made out of. And fascinating tree roots
Another animal hideout
There was a strange water bottle filled with algae & stuff tied to this bridge…🤷‍♀️
A view of my parents’ apartment building from the trail.
A lookout over Dallas from a trail
Lexa took a picture of me. 😀
