Life with a Toddler…
How quickly I forgot how often life with a toddler is sometimes 1 step forward & 1 step backwards. Or, if I’m lucky, 2 steps forward & then 1 step backwards.
Don’t get me wrong – I love this age! It is so fun! And SO, SO BUSY!
This morning while I was trying to wash dishes, Ellie started playing with the bread & pasta out of the cupboard. .. at first I thought it would be fine – I figured they couldn’t be hurt too much & she was lining them up so no nicely. Pretty soon I turn around to a loud noise, and see an entire box of pasta dumped out on the floor. So I pick it up, put it back in the box, put a rubber band around the box and put the box back in the cupboard, thinking that should keep her from dumping it again. Not so much! Pretty soon I am in the laundry room starting a load of laundry and hear the same noise again. I go back out and Ellenor is sitting on the floor putting the pieces of pasta back into the box one by one. She sat there playing for a good long while!
Moral of the story – you don’t need to buy expensive toys or even a game of pick up sticks. Lol. Just let the kids play with the food. (For the record, Ellie now has a box of “play pasta” that is hers to play with.)
And while I was folding laundry, she was throwing all the clean, folded laundry on the floor. And also, just today, she dumped the entire tupperware drawer on the floor. Sigh. <3 And, yes, she has a black eye she gave herself yesterday.
Adorable. 🙂
Thank you 🙂
