ICHE Family Homeschool Conference May 2022

We have been homeschooling for the past 17 years or so, always have & hoping to through the rest of our kids’ school years (another 13ish years). 😀

While I have seen info about these homeschool conferences over the years, it never seemed feasible to go…time, money, nursing babies, just gave birth, too many little kids, whatever it was each year, it just didn’t seem like something I needed or it felt too daunting.

Until this year…since it was our first time, we decided that just the 2 oldest at home girls & I would go (not to mention, we signed up on the very last day to register & the only rooms they had left were for 3 people, so that worked out perfectly!) 🙂

We really, really loved it & can’t wait to go back & take more of the family next year!

(If anyone wants more info, you can find it at ICHE Family Conference ) It is held @ Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, IL each May. ICHE also has Mother/Daughter events, ladies events, Family Camp, Father/Son events, Young Adult & Parent events & more. We have been to several of the ladies & Mother/Daughter events over the past 10 years & have been blessed every time.

The girls & I had a blessed time together – we enjoyed each other’s company, got way too little sleep, listened to encouraging messages, met a lot of wonderful people…I can’t say enough about how positive of a time it was & how refreshing to be around so many like minded families. I highly recommend it!

A few picture highlights:

The acoustics in this building were amazing, with the tall ceiling…the girls sang a song & I did record it, but am not allowed to share it ðŸĪŠ. I’ve been asking for a retake…it’s pretty awesome when Logan joins in, too. I’ll share it when it happens. 😀
It brought tears to my eyes…special memories âĪ
Young adult activities in the evenings…Kirk Smith did such a great job! The kids all had so much fun. And…they are all such gentlemen, they wouldn’t let any young ladies walk back to their housing alone… nice to see some wonderful gentlemen!!
Volleyball in the evenings…it was the first time playing for the girls in ages! They loved it! (Xanna in the back jeans & gray/black shirt)

Rock climbing! Olivet has a 4 story rock climbing wall! They had a sign up sheet that filled up in less than an hour, but we were able to get a slot for them the 2nd night.
