ICHE Family Ski Trip 2023

A couple of Lizzy’s friends were going on the ICHE (Illinois Christian Home Educators) Family Ski Trip & asked if Lizzy was going…that got her/us thinking & we were able to make it happen to go. Thankfully the weather was beautiful, about 60 degrees warmer than 2 weeks prior!!!

For anyone who knows us pretty well, you know we’re not a huge outdoor sports type family & we haven’t ever gone snowboarding or skiing… but I was happy to see Lizzy be able to have this opportunity, as an early 18th birthday present. Keira got to tag along because it was her bday the 2nd day (& we got one of the last hotel rooms & it only slept 3).

Lizzy chose to snowboard & the homeschool group package deal we got included a lesson if you so choose, which was nice. She did do some research ahead of time, watching YouTube videos & such, which did help her also.

Keira & I hung out in the lodge most of the day. We did go out & watch Lizzy & the others some & they came in to eat, drink, get warm, lose some layers, Etc.

After skiing/snowboarding all day, they had made arrangements for a room at the hotel to play games in that evening…..

The hotel we stayed at had a water slide. Lizzy & Keira enjoyed it the next morning after breakfast.
