Day 2 we spent all day at The Ark Encounter, about 9 hours there (plus 1 hour each way from our hotel…) There is so much to see, we didn’t have time to do it all justice, but enjoyed everything we had time for.
Riding the shuttle bus from the parking area to The Ark Encounter…about a 5 minute ride. Our kids have never been on a bus outside of this, so they were pretty excited!!Getting ready to go in!! (Yes, we took 2 wheelchairs…Ellie is at the age where she’s a bit too big for a stroller, but an all day adventure is pretty long. The extra wheelchair ended up being a huge blessing as it carried all our water bottles, food, etc, & Ellie and I were able to have a break from walking. The kids did a great job pushing it all day (which they enjoyed taking turns doing)A size reference picture….it is SO much bigger than pictures reflect!! Lucas – a friendly man who worked at the Ark told Lucas that his favorite animal to sit on is this Dinosaur – because it rocks back & forth instead of going up & down. (As a side note – Lucas is a sweetheart & had big smiles, waves & “Hellos” for all the staff we came across. One gentleman was so touched by it, he went & got Lucas a present – a Buddy Davis DVD!! I think it made both of their days. 🧡) This one is sadly blurry, but I love the big smile Lexa hasHalf of Lexa, Emma & LoganEmma & Keira Mike, Lucas & LexaEmma & LoganEllie & I – she wanted to sit in the elephant…it didn’t movePoor girl wasn’t feeling well & spent most of the day cuddling. I was very grateful for Grant’s extra wheelchair & willing hands to push us…we didn’t realize until we got to The Ark, otherwise I would have stayed at the hotel with her…we did head to the van earlier than the rest of the family & hung out there a bit.
