Lexa’s Cape
I bought the fabric back in October to make this cape for Lexa first Christmas, then with my sudden health issues, I didn’t get it finished in time.
I’m happy to say I finally finished it!!! YAY! I’m a little excited. (And so is she!) 🙂
I will say, this was NOT easy fabric to work from, from cutting it (most fabric you want to double & cut, but with stretch velvet you have to cut each layer individually) to pinning to sewing…
Thankfully I looked it up before I started & learned many tips to make it easier. I ALMOST had it done in time for Christmas, spent all morning Christmas Eve working on it, then thought I had put a couple pieces together wrong, spent the rest of the day ripping it out, only to realize the next week that it was actually correct. 🤦♀️
Oh well. 🤷♀️
At any rate, we are very happy it’s finished & Lexa loves it! (It still needs the clasp, but I think we’ll have to go to a specialty store in Rockford to find it, hopefully this week).
