Madison Family Trip May 2022 Part 1

Madison Family Trip May 2022 Part 1

Every few years we have to go up to Madison to get new military ID cards (even though Grant is no longer in the military, we use them for our insurance).

It’s a 2 hour drive from where we live & we had an 8am appointment Monday morning, so we made a last minute decision to go to Madison the day before & get a couple of hotel rooms.

We rarely do that sort of thing; we don’t travel a lot or do extensive family vacations, so we thought it would be a fun opportunity for the kids (& hopefully make it less stressful to get to the appointment on time).

We had fun in the pool (even though we have one at home, it’s only open late May-Sept), then went out to dinner (another rarity to go out as a whole family) at Bonefish Grill. Grant & I had eaten there in April and met the owner & had a great conversation with him (he was one of 8 kids!) and they offer a military discount. We had a wonderful time at dinner & the manager commented on how we made her day. Stuff like that is a blessing! 💙

Pool fun (We realized we had forgotten Ellie’s pool “lifejacket”, so when we stopped at Costco for lunch & gas we bought some pool noodles; we needed some new ones anyhow). I loved seeing the kids getting along well & having fun 💙:

The girls reading at the hotel…Emma & Ellenor especially enjoyed the Bibles there (yes, we have dozens at home, they each have some, but it’s still fun)
I had blow dried Ellie’s hair after the pool & twisted some cute little curls into her pigtails. 😍
