Making Homemade Hand Sanitizer
I have been making our own hand sanitizer for years, but with everything going on & hand sanitizer shortages in stores, I wanted to share how easy it is to do.
You do need to invest in a few supplies to get started, but once you make that initial investment, it doesn’t cost very much at all to keep making it. The essential oils I use have antifungal & antibacterial properties & when mixed with rubbing alcohol are very effective in killing germs.
Recipe:
*essential oils – 10 drops of tea tree oil & 10-15 drops total of a mix of any of the following: lavender, lemon, peppermint & sweet orange. Put the drops in the bottom of the spray bottle & swirl gently.
Fill the rest of the bottle with:
*2/3 Rubbing alcohol
*1/3 aloe vera gel
Make sure you leave enough head space for the spray lid. Put the lid on & shake gently.
I buy these 2 oz glass spray bottles (either in brown or blue) & they also come with cute chalkboard labels, which I love. 🙂 I find the 2 oz is convenient for keeping in a purse, diaper bag, vehicles, etc. I buy the larger 4 oz glass spray bottles for homemade bug spray.
