March 2023 Family Funnies
Leading up to Lent (40 days before Easter), we were talking about making personal decisions. Ellenor says, “What is this Lentil?”
Can I give up taking naps for Lentil?
Lucas made a batch of banana bread & accidentally left out the sugar. He had also left out the vanilla, in case Keira wanted some (she’s highly sensitive to vanilla).
Lizzy: “Aww, that’s so sweet!”
Lucas: “Yeah, but the bread is NOT!” π€£
“Mom! I think I look 5 now! And I feel 5!!” (Ellie on her birthday π) π
“Do I look longer? Do I look 5? Or do I still look 4ish?” π€£
We were driving an hour & a half to an all-day event. Grant asked the kids to all close their eyes & try to take a short nap on the drive. Ellie did a pretty good job for the first half of the time.
After about 45 minutes of quietly resting, she was getting restless. Pretty soon we hear “Do do doooh. Do Do doooh.” π΅πΆπ΅
Ellie is humming. Then she starts clapping & moving around to the music. π€£π…she did keep her eyes closed, though!

Ellie was going through an old box of her stuff. She hugs a sweater with a bear hood & I said, “Oh! I LOVE that! Would you wear it on Sunday over a pretty dress? Please?!”
Ellie: “I’m going to be wearing TWO dresses on Sunday! Because one is a little weird!”
Me: “Um…why is one weird?”
“Ellie:….Um…nevermind”

I took Ellie out shopping & to lunch as a late bday date. I was getting full & said, “Oh, I’m going to have to save the rest for later!”
Ellie says: “That’s ok! They have savers!” (Boxes to take home leftovers)
Me: “Wow, how did you know that, Ellie?”
Ellie: “I saw a girl with one! She was sitting right over there!”
