Ellie & I were talking & I told her, “I’m so glad you’re good friends with all your siblings!”

She says, “I’m not a ‘spleen!'” 🤣

Keira was trying to get everything ready for Tostadas & says, “I can’t think! I’m having a mind blankage!” 😀

We drove past a tree with extremely large blossoms
Logan “whoa the blossoms on that tree look like tulips!!”



Different person: “Tulip tree!!” 🤣

I had been at work all morning & got home right as Ellie was getting up from her nap. She was unusually needy and cuddly, so I was sitting & cuddling with her while eating my late lunch.

I had asked the rest of the kids to work on picking up the house. After a few minutes, I asked Ellenor to go pitch in & help the others.

She says, “That’s too much of you to ask!” 🙃🤣

(If you ever wonder – yes, kids hear & pick up things you wouldn’t expect!! Apparently I say this more than I think: “I don’t think it’s too much to ask!” 🤪)

We were watching the old Gregory Peck 1951 Hornblower movie & they were kissing. Ellie looks at me & says, “Are they doing an ‘ugly kiss’?

Me, confused…”Um. What do you mean by an ‘ugly kiss’? Can you show me?”

She proceeds to give me a 10 second long kiss on the cheek. LOL.

So I think she’s referring to long kisses as “ugly kisses”. But why? I only wish I knew! Lol 😆 🤣

She then proceeded to continue to talk & sing about how “ugly kisses are better” for the rest of the movie. 🤣

At the family reunion, it was mid afternoon & Ellie says, “I’m tired! Did I have a nap today?”

Me: “Not today!”

Ellie: “Oh right! My mind is giving it to me right now!” (Her way of saying “I remember now!”) 🤣

Lucas was draining a Morel (mushroom) and putting it to dry on a paper towel. He says, “Come on, spores, get out of there!”

Then he says, “Okay, you can go join your brothers and sisters!” And places the morel with the other morels on a paper towel.

I said, “You’re so cute, Lucas!”

He says, “I know! That’s why my nickname is ‘Lucas, the dukus of’…..I can’t even remember!” 😅🤣

(Lexa has always affectionately called him “Lucas, the Dukus of Pookus!”)
