Read Alouds We Are Reading

We LOVE reading aloud. I grew up in a home where my Mom read aloud to us & I have such good memories of that time. It has been important to me to make our own memories of read alouds. We have read dozens, if not hundreds of books over the years. It’s so hard to pick a favorite!!

Regardless, I wanted to share what we’re currently working through.

This is a fantastic series, the Farm Mystery Series by Mr & Mrs Castleberry. Back when I used to have an Ebay store & was a distributor for several different companies, I also sold these books (they have more books that are geared towards older teens/young adults). I had never read them aloud to the family until recently (sadly!), but we have really been enjoying them.

We recently took a break from The Farm Mystery Series because Lexa requested this book, Robinson Crusoe. It was a quick read, an abridged version & we all really enjoyed it. Good choice, Lexa.

The very first books I started reading aloud over a dozen years ago, the Little House series. This box of books is actually the same ones that my Mom read to my siblings & me over 30 years ago. ❤ I had started reading them a long time ago & we got stuck partway through, I think in Farmer Boy, so we set it aside.

I wanted to try it again. So, this week we started this series. It has been a hit so far & we’re excited to work through them.
