The Lord gave & the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.
Job 1:21 ESV “And he said, ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.’”
It’s with a heavy heart that we share we had a miscarriage recently. A month ago we were surprised, but so excited, to discover we were expecting our 9th child. Everyone was thrilled. We have been so blessed, to never before have had to deal with any type of loss in this way.
It’s hard. It hurts. But, I know we’ll get through it. The above verse has been heavy on our hearts. From the beginning of the pregnancy, God gave me a peace, regardless of what may happen. I know that He has a plan in all of this. We don’t always see or understand, but I fully believe it & trust Him.
“Should I accept good from you, and not trouble?” (Job 2:10)
“It is suffering that has the realest possibility to bear down and deliver grace. And grace that chooses to bear the cross of suffering overcomes that suffering.” (I shared this 6 years ago. I don’t remember where I got it from, but it was a timely reminder today.)
May God be glorified in our pain. May He comfort us in our loss. And May we honor Him as we walk this journey. I’m so thankful that we have a loving Father to lean on. I can’t imagine dealing with this without His help. ❤
We appreciate & covet your prayers for our family during this time. It has hit us all hard, not only me. All of the kids were greatly looking forward to another sibling. Until we meet again, precious one. You are so loved.
These songs are some of my favorite. They minister to me when I’m sad. https://applehurst.com/encouraging-songs/

I’m so sorry, Martha. Take comfort in knowing that just like our kids play together on earth, our babies are playing together in heaven.
Amen! Thanks, friend! Miss you
I’m sorry to hear of your loss. You are in my prayers.
