Weekly Gratitude Post 12/12/22
Today’s Gratitude Post is brought to you by…
Me!
I’m grateful for good health. I know I’ve mentioned it recently, but it never gets old to feel well!
I still vividly remember 3 short years ago when I didn’t feel well enough to go to a friend’s house for dinner. That’s rough! I was in the midst of trying to figure out why I had NO energy. I sat at the Doctor’s office for 3 hours waiting to be seen & just wilting while I sat there. Nothing else can compare.
Only to be told: “You seem depressed…” (because I couldn’t stop crying).
I wasn’t sleeping much. I had been through an extremely stressful year (stress on top of stress on top of stress). And this is how my body started dealing with the constant stress….
(I HAVE dealt with depression. For many years. This wasn’t it. Nowhere near similar. I was not lacking joy. Just energy. 😀)
3 years ago if I had to take even a 5 hour trip to Rockford (1 hour each way, an appt, errands, etc), it took me DAYS to recover.
Recently I had 3 LONG days in a row. The 3rd I was gone from home for 16 hours. And I survived!!! Enough to handle the 4th long day in a row. Was I tired? Exhausted? Yes!! But, not at a complete standstill like years ago. After I got through the long 4 days in a row, I did need a bit of extra rest the following week, but I definitely saw & appreciated the difference.
I’m grateful for family. I’m grateful for opportunities to make memories & experience things together.
I’m grateful for Ken Ham & his vision for the Creation Museum & the Ark & for all who helped make it possible, and for the opportunity to go visit it. ❤️
