Weekly Gratitude Post 7/26/20

Today’s Gratitude Post is brought to you by Grant.

“This week I am thankful for the time I spend with my children.

Recently I got to take Logan out on a lunch date on the tail end of one of my many medical appointments.

I get to see him grow and change.

He is slowly changing from a gangly youth.  To a young man that sets a very respectably time running cross country around our orchard.

He is quiet and shy but when alone and sometimes pressed, he asks some good questions about life and about God.

He is protective of all his sisters and is growing into his leadership role over the younger children.

I spent two nights in the tent, in the woods, “camping”.

On a cot.

Really just a glorified sleep over for the children and getting the dubious honor of them wanting me there with them.

On a cot.

When alone and all is quiet and still, they all ask really good questions about God and sin and how to live life.

On a cot.

The kids get to be so “brave” when I am out there with them.

On a cot.

They seem to spook themselves at all the “night noises”.

Of which there are many.

I’m on a cot.

We get to drift off one by one.

First Lucas – he can sleep anywhere, so long as he feels safe.

Then Logan and Emma who tie for being kind of quiet.

Then last, but not least, Keira, who is a good question-asker like her older brother.
