What I’m Reading March 2020
I thought it would be nice to share what I’m currently reading. A – to encourage me to finish what I’m working on (yes, it’s a constant struggle!) And B – to share book recommendations. 🙂
Last month I read Tasting Grace: Discovering the Power of Food to Connect us to God, One Another, and Ourselves by Melissa d’Arabian. I really enjoyed it & it was a timely read for me as it talked about an emotional connection with food. I love to watch cooking shows & so I have seen Melissa on TV several times & was somewhat familiar with her, but she really opened up in this book & it was sort of an autobiography.
Currently I am reading Just Show Up: The Dance of Walking Through Suffering Together by Kara Tippetts & Jill Lynn Buteyn. I am only about a third of the way through it, but it’s very good. It gives great insight into how to be there for friends who are going through the HARD.
I have Kara’s book The Hardest Peace: Expecting Grace in the Midst of Life’s Hard & recommend it often. It is such a good book for anyone dealing with hard things. In her case it was cancer, but something I learned years ago when I first started dealing with chronic pain & health issues is that everyone has something HARD that they’re dealing with. It may be health, or family issues, school struggles, or financial, or marriage related, but everyone has their own “cancer” of sorts.
