Reusable Food Pouches
We recently discovered reusable food pouches. It is interesting to me how much parenting “things” have changed in the past 19 years since we were new parents. There are so many new options, neat things that were not around then. A few of my favorites – reusable food pouches and Amber teething necklaces.
Today we mixed avocado, bananas, plain yogurt & a few baby food fruits & veggies. Possibilities are endless! (It was a bit harder to wash the pouches out with the greasy fat from the avocados, but it wasn’t terrible. I would do it again.) 🙂
Ellie loves them! Makes it easy for her to feed herself, hardly any mess & so convenient! And a great way to get her to try new foods & flavors.
Honestly -I have a love/hate relationship with them – one, I’m sad that we are such a society of “convenience” and “busyness”. But, I’m also busy & all about convenience. So, there you have it!
The pouches are nice – but I don’t want my kids growing up only able to suck pureed food out of a pouch. Ellie still tries all the foods we make – sometimes she loves it & other times not so much. The other day at a friend’s house she ate some sloppy joes for the first time & LOVED it! She ate some turkey recently and ham & while she loved it, she had a hard time swallowing down (a common problem with meat). So, we keep trying.
