IL State Fair 2021 Part 1
Xanna, Lizzy & Logan all earned spots at the State Fair with their 4H projects. It was a great experience & the kids got some valuable feedback.
We went down to Springfield the day before (to avoid leaving at 4am), got to eat out (a RARE treat, especially with being gluten & dairy free – very challenging!) & toured the Lincoln Depot (which was tiny, but fun).
(If you read the post earlier in the week about being blessed by friends, you’ve already heard this!) Had a crises with the hitch on our van “breaking/dying” – dragging Grant’s track chair & carrier. We spent 2 hours making calls, but couldn’t find anyone to fix it, nor anything to rent that would pull it. Gratefully, another family in our 4H club has a big SUV with the style hitch we needed & we were able to connect with them & switch the carrier & chair over. God is good! 💚
There was a rock climbing wall & the kids LOVED it. When we loved in the Rockford area, we went to Peak sports club & the kids had rock climbed some there, but not the younger ones. I was surprised they would even let Ellenor, but she was fearless & loved it, even though she didn’t get very high.
