We took a day trip & met McKaylee at the National Mississippi River Museum in Dubuque, IA. We had never been there before & really enjoyed it.

Can you see the Greater Siren (see picture above) – hint: it takes up the whole bottom of the picture
Emma, Lucas, Keira, Logan
Emma – somewhere between the Red Tailed Hawk & the Turkey Vulture

A real Bald Eagle! It was fun to watch (see the short video below)

This was such a neat hands-on water activity… you could move the blue & yellow dividers to redirect the water streams. The kids really enjoyed it a lot.
This was also really fun – it had a topographical map projected on the sand & you could build different mounds & the colors would change.
Walking out to the dredging barge
Look at all the fish!!
This barge was used for dredging the river many years ago
Sweet sisters 💕
Follow the yellow arrows for the self guided tour
Going down the stairs to the lower deck
“Captain Lucas”
Where the Captain would steer the barge
On the 2nd deck – inside the doors are the kitchen area & crew bunks
Emma walks into this crew bunk room & says, “Ewww, it smells like men!!” 🤣
