I’m Not OK, & That’s OK

Yesterday was a HARD day. I had an encounter with a Dr that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. It was unbelievably frustrating. Worse yet, it’s an appt I have been waiting a LONG time for. And there is NO WAY I will go back to this Dr.

But, after I gave myself time to cool down & had a good talk with Grant (he’s so good at talking me through situations & putting a better perspective on things!), I was able to extend the grace I’m sure this Dr needed today. Maybe she’s going through something HARD too, I realized as I was driving home!

I just have felt so burdened lately to share what has been going on & what I’m learning. Today’s lesson has been on …

Admitting we are not OK today. It’s not permanent.

It’s OK to admit that life is not all sunshine & roses. And, I will say it’s also a HARD thing & a BRAVE thing to do. It takes courage to ask for help! Or to accept help when it’s offered!

Please, find someone & pour out your heart! Find a way to smile & laugh. Find a way to grieve so you can heal. Keep putting one foot in front of another until it gets easier. I promise, it will!

Admit you could use a hug. Admit you need a nap! Admit you need to go for a walk or a run or take a bath…… what would help you right now to make you a better Wife, Mom, Daughter? (I know we are not all in a place where we can take this kind of self care, but it is SO important, so please take care of yourself where you can!)

So, bottom line…. I AM ok. For the most part. But, there are days I’m simply NOT ok. And I’m giving myself grace for those days. (As long as it’s not every day! Again, balance & moderation is key! More on that in another post, or another book…)

Give yourself that same grace. Accept the help that is offered. Rest in God’s Grace & Love. 🤗

And, tomorrow (or today) is a fresh day! One of my favorite promises: “His mercies are new every morning! Great is your faithfulness, Oh Lord!” Lamentations 3:23

  • Thank you for being vulnerable. Thankful for Grant’s willingness and ability to talk you through things and help you have a different perspective. Thankful for the lessons you are willing to learn and share with others, the grace you are able to give to others.
