Incubating Eggs Part One
Hi this is Lizzy, when the chicks were hatching I decided that I was going to catalog everything that I noticed going on. This is just going to be part number one and the rest will come soon.
Jan 29
5:00 Keira and Emma heard faint peeping!
7:00 We all heard faint peeping!
Jan 30
7:30 Very loud peeping we could all hear it from the other room!
8:00 We found the first pip! It is on a green egg. We are SUPER excited!
10:10 Over the last two hours we have heard lots of peeping. I was just checking the eggs for pips when all of a sudden up pops part of the shell!!! Now underneath the shell we can see a crack in the membrane! SO COOL!!
10:50 We discovered a pip in the underside of one of the white eggs. It looks like it’s been there a while.
11:00 Just discovered the other white egg has a pip on the bottom as well.
12:15 I just watched the chick move away a bit of the shell. I can see its beak!!
12:30 WOW it’s being so active! It’s already busted most of the shell in the past 15 minutes!
1:00 Almost out!!! It’s just trying to get it’s hind quarters out of the shell.
1:10 It can walk around now. Hurrah!!
2:50 one of the brown eggs has a pip.
3:00 another brown egg has a hole in the shell.
Now I’ve got a game. I numbered all the pictures 1 through 6 and you can guess which picture (or video) goes with which entry. Have fun and if you have any questions please ask
