When Taking 7 Kids to The Dr Takes 6 Hours

We had an important Doctor’s appointment yesterday. An appointment we’ve been waiting almost 6 months for, thanks to Covid.

An appointment to have the other 7 kids (I say kids, but McKaylee really isn’t anymore…you know what I mean.) tested for Lyme & other tick-borne illnesses (Lexa was tested in Feb & because she & I both have 1 of the same tick-borne illnesses, the Dr felt it was likely that I passed it on to all the kids during pregnancy, so it was worth having all the kids tested. Expensive, but worth it.)

Thanks to drive time (& construction on I-90 adding 20 minutes to the already hour long drive each way), a long appointment, getting lunch, etc., we were gone for 6 hours.

I’m beat!! I’m grateful, but exhausted.

Unfortunately, the logistics of getting a bunch of labs drawn for 7 people in this day & age of “by appointment only” means we have to wait a couple weeks to get the labs done, but at least now we have the orders. We are testing for some other things, depending on each person. Thyroid issues run rampant in our family, so several are being tested for that, a couple for food sensitivities & a couple for auto-immune issues. I’ll post again in a couple months when we find out the results! 😀
