Generosity
Sometime last year, Grant & I had been out on a date at Franchesco’s. An old coworker of his was there & they visited for a few minutes. Grant explained he had had to quit working about 8 years prior due to his spinal cord injury he received in Iraq. His coworker ended up paying for our meal & it was a huge blessing.
We had an opportunity recently to pay for another friends’ meal and it was a blessing to them and to us.
We are not looking for recognition, that’s not why I am sharing it, but rather just to share what a blessing it was to us and to challenge you…how can you find ways to be a blessing to others? Grant often shows me ways that we can be generous when I wouldn’t have thought of it.
It doesn’t have to be paying for a meal, but could you send a card? Could you make a phone call to a shut in, or a lonely widow?
We make it a priority to tip well. We make it a point to get to know the wait staff at places we go regularly, always asking them how they’re doing, what’s been going on in their lives, we pray for them, etc.
