4th of July Themed Picnic 2022

Ever since we bought our 40 acre property 5 1/2 years ago, we’ve had a vision of hosting a huge gathering. We planned it for months & were so excited for it.

The weather couldn’t have been better – it was a high of 80° & absolutely gorgeous. We had a great turnout, even with 7 families canceling last minute (you were missed!) We’re so grateful for the opportunity & foe everyone who came. We enjoyed the fellowship & smiles & laughter & hugs.

We’ve already started planning it for next year & can’t wait! It will be bigger & better than ever as we have time to plan & learn from our mistakes. 😀

The 26′ inflatable slide we rented through Bouncin All Around: (I didn’t get a picture of the back side, but it was a “rock wall” to climb up, even the littlest kids could manage it.):

Emma & Lucas both at the top ready to go down
Emma enjoying the slide
Luc & Em (sorry I didn’t get pictures if anyone else on the slide, I was pretty busy all day) 🙂
Lucas enjoying the slide
Ellie playing with a giant Connect 4 lawn game that we borrowed from the library (did you know the library has a “Library of Things” containing things like this, sewing machines, etc, among many other things that you can borrow? It’s a huge project ive been working on lately, cataloging everything & getting the word out there that items are available to borrow)

The magician Magic of Brian Holt doing his show (he’s from Loves Park & has been doing a show @ the Ogle County Fair for about 30 years):

Ellie & Mama – enjoying the magic show
Lucas got called up to “help”
Ellenor saying goodbye to a friend

The fireworks show (a friend brought & did the fireworks, all the credit goes to him, we just provided the venue – he did a great job. If anyone wants to hire him to do a fireworks show, we can put you in contact with Mike):
