Being Blessed By Some Friends

We have been doing 4H for the past 3 years. The first 2 years we joined a club a bit farther from our house because we knew several families there. Over the course of those 2 years, most of them left the club & we decided to find another club closer to our house.

We have been SO blessed by the new group of families! It’s a very small club, 5 other families, but we have become good friends with 3 of the families in the past year as they’ve been coming to our monthly potlucks, etc.

This past week, 2 of the families blessed us with very last minute needs. When we went to the State Fair last weekend & were gone 2 long days, one family graciously came to our house & took care of our cats & chickens. With our very pregnant Mama cat due any day, we were grateful for that peace of mind that they were being taken care of.

While we were in Springfield, our van hitch started to give way, with Grant’s huge track chair & carrier on it. It started dragging on the ground while we were driving. We pulled over & spent about 2 hours calling around, but we’re unable to find anyone who could fix the hitch that weekend (it would have been several weeks), nor could we find anything to rent that had the right type of Reese hitch that we could move the carrier & chair to.

God reminded me that our friends were also coming down Friday & that they had a big SUV. I called them & they graciously agreed to transport the chair! So Grant was able to still use it all day Saturday at the Fair (miles & miles of walking!!) & able to get it home safely.

We felt so very blessed & grateful! I’m thankful for opportunities like this that remind us that God has everything under control & He loves us & takes care of us. It also teaches us flexibility & patience. It was a HOT couple hours waiting in the heat of the day, trying figure out what to do. The logistics of transporting a 500 lb “mini tank” is not easy!! God is good! And thank you friends! 💚
