Book Recommendations – Prince Martin Series
I recently had the opportunity to be an advanced reader for the newest book in the Prince Martin series, Prince Martin & the Last Centaur.
We had bought the first 3 Prince Martin books for Lucas for his birthday & he LOVED them. Actually most of the kids read & enjoyed the books.
I didn’t realize we were missing book 4 when I signed up to be an advanced reader for book 5, but I read it aloud anyhow and we enjoyed it SO much!
These are such FUN books! To me they have a Dr Seuss feel, of sorts. The entire book is rhyming, but in a subtle, not obnoxious way. Whereas Dr Seuss made up words, this author, Brandon Hale, does an incredible job of using real words & rhyming. It is so fun to read & even more incredible to read aloud.
These are definitely a new family favorite! The books are short & easy to read. Even our struggling readers have gobbled them up.
Prince Martin is a boy, a young Prince, and his friends are a fun mix of a dog (Sir Ray – you read about his background story in the newest book, Prince Martin and the Last Centaur), a wood-elf, and a wolf. The four go on adventures & learn lessons and do good.
Each book has a lot of beautifully done color illustrations. Kids of all ages are enthralled! I enjoyed reading the books as much as the kids enjoyed listening, even the bigger “kids”. 😊
