Having People Over (Even During A Pandemic)

We enjoy having people over.. even during a Pandemic!

Do we work hard to make sure the house looks nice? Yes. (However, this is something we strive to do anyhow, on a regular basis… it takes a lot less work to keep things up than to let it go & then have to work hard to get it back into shape.)

Blankets strewn about, toys out, etc…we did leave some toys out for guests to play with, but took care of everything else

Is it perfect? NO! Here are a few pictures. We LIVE in this house. At a certain point, you have to just accept that it is what it is & that’s ok!

I’m a firm believer in the idea of having people over even though your house is not perfect or pristine. Honestly, most people don’t care!

(Side note, we make sure to CLEAN regularly… so we are not talking about cleanliness, it’s more about organization & where to put items, which, honestly, has never been my strong suit. I keep wishing that someone would come along to help us!)

Pictures of our dining room that show where we keep some of our homeschool books & 4H stuff…not ideal for when we have company over, which is regularly…but it is functional & that’s what’s most important to us.)

Bottom line, if you want to have people over, I encourage you to do it! Make it happen & don’t make excuses. It means a lot to people! 😊❤

We started doing monthly potlucks. Every single person we had over told us how much it meant & were grateful for the opportunity to fellowship.

In the winter months parking is more of an issue, so we didn’t invite as many families as we would have liked. If you are interested in coming, please let me know! We’d love to include you!

Food…it doesn’t have to be complex or expensive. Last week for our January potluck, we made a huge pot (60 servings) of chili. I put it together in an hour before rushing off to work, let it simmer all day & it was awesome! Guests brought corn chips, sour cream, cheese, cornbread, dessert, etc. I did make some GF DF cornbread for our family & anyone else who wanted/needed it.
