Saving Bread Crumbs *A Frugal Tip*

I wanted to share an easy frugal tip.

We make a lot of homemade bread & every time you slice homemade bread, it leaves crumbs on the cutting board. (Even if you use store bought bread, there are often crumbs at the bottom of the bag, or crackers, etc… same principle applies.)

The cutting board after slicing bread – it doesn’t look like much, does it?

Instead of throwing those crumbs away, put them in a baggie in the freezer & keep adding to the bag every time you have more. It may not seem like much, but it does add up.

Keeping the bag in the freezer helps them to last longer, not mold, etc. I would not recommend skipping this part. 😉

We had quite a bit stored up from the past few weeks!

Then next time you need bread crumbs, pull out the bag & use them!

The bread crumbs in our meatloaf mixture…we usually use oats, but I added in the bread crumbs also since I’ve been saving them!

Do you have any tips like this?
