Suffering Redeemed

Suffering Redeemed

I have never met Karis in person, but she is the sister of a friend that I have known for about 13 years. Over the years, I have often heard of what she has been going through and prayed for her. Karis also has a blog that I have been following for quite a while.

So when Karis asked me, I was honored & thrilled to be part of the launch team for her new book, Suffering Redeemed.

Here is a copy of the review I left on Amazon:

“Karis’s book is one I was blessed to read, had a hard time putting down, and look forward to perusing again.

I underlined so many key passages, verses, quotes, Etc. that I struggled to choose a few favorites to share!

The book is easy to read, although the content is such that I wanted to savor and not miss anything.

I so appreciate her candor and the way she has clung to God through her struggles and encourages us, through this book, to do the same. She doesn’t just glibly tell you it’s easy!

I appreciate Karis’s backing up what she says with Scripture, and I found the book causing me to go digging further myself. I also appreciated her quotes from John Piper and Joni Erickson Tada on suffering – very applicable!

I highly recommend this book for anyone who is struggling through the hard, or even a caregiver or relative of someone suffering; it will give you a better perspective of how to help or minister to them through their trials.

I’m sharing just a few pictures of some favorite quotes… Buy the book and enjoy many more! You won’t regret it. 😊”

I was thankful that I had a paper copy of the book so I could make notes, underline, etc…andas I was going back through to try to pick out 1-2 favorite quotes, it was very challenging! Too much to choose from (a good problem to have 😉)

These are the quotes I shared – I could have easily shared a couple dozen more! 😀

May I strive to be more like you, Lord! That is my heart’s desire. I often fail, but appreciate the encouragement to keep trying!
Exactly why I’m always grateful for the HARD! It’s no necessarily fun going through it, but I’m grateful for my loving Savior who carries me through!
Expectations are such killers!! A good reminder to keep our focus on God & our heavenly home.
