“I am grateful for long range communication. There are many different ways to send messages.

The Pony express sent mail coast to coast in little less than a week.

Smoke signals were another to get messages during the day. I am not sure if you can see them at night, but I do not think so.

Semaphore flags are a great way to communicate silently, especially when it is loud. Then we come to technology, you can text someone anywhere on the planet (although it helps if you both have phones).”
