What I’m Reading Fall 2021/Winter 2022

I LOVED this book! Written by Jim & Elizabeth Elliot’s daughter Valerie (whom I had the pleasure of meeting & hearing her speak many years ago at a Mother/Daughter conference. She also has 8 kids! ❤

It has a lot of excerpts of their letters back & forth & their journal entries from the 5 years they were in love, but didn’t feel free to get married or even engaged for a long time. It’s so encouraging reading about how they were fully committed to God & continued to trust in Him even more so through these trials. A very encouraging read. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Elizabeth Elliot wrote this book in the year after Jim & the 4 other men were killed by the Aucas. It talks about the year(s) leading up to their deaths & how they were all lead continually to pursue trying to reach the Aucas, despite all the people telling them not to & all the hurdles they overcame. Also very encouraging. Their faith & obedience never ceases to amaze me!
Elizabeth Elliot wrote this at the end of “Through the Gates of Splendor” ❤ God is God. AMEN.
This has been on my “want to read list” for a while & a friend gave it to me for Christmas!! ❤ I haven’t started it yet, but am really looking forward to it!
