Guest Post – Sourdough Cinnamon Rolls
Today I have invited my cousin Megan’s daughter Keirsten to do a guest post. Keirsten is almost 15 (close in age to Lizzy) & loves to cook and bake.

Today I decided to surprise my family with cinnamon rolls but, I had some sourdough starter that I needed to use today, so I decided to make Sourdough cinnamon rolls. Some things you need to know about this recipe is that it takes a while for them to rise and some factors are not as sweet as others.Since this recipe took awhile to rise, it was more of a brunch than a breakfast. My mom kept saying, “are they done yet?,” Yeah we were starving and I was trying to get everything together as quickly as possible. This is all of the ingredients for the dough.I added sugar, butter, sourdough starter, and eggs. While the egg mixture was being mixed in, I warmed up milk and yeast that had to sit for 5 min. At first I added too much yeast, but that was an easy fix. I added three cups of flour and then I had to let it sit for a hour, only to punch it to release the air bubbles and let it rise for another hour. While the dough was rising, I made the filling which was brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. After the dough rose, I had to roll it out so I could spread the filling onto it. After I spread the filling, I had to roll them up and cut it into 1 in rolls. For the glaze I just had to stir in powdered sugar, milk and vanilla. When the cinnamon rolls are done, just put your glaze on and enjoy!!
